The Foundations. Alan Warner (Guitar+backing vocals), Pat Burke (Tenor saxophone), Tony Gomesz (Keyboards+ Backing vocals), Tim Harris (Drums), Eric Allendale (Trombone). Clem Curtis (Lead vocals), Peter MacBeth (Bass Guitar/Backing vocals).
Originally called "The Ramongs" after their first lead singer (Ramong Morrison). When Morrison left, the band had to find a new name, Guitarist Alan Warner put forward the name "The Foundations". ( He got the idea from the Vox 'Foundation' speaker cabinet that their Bass Guitarist was using at the time). They went on to find international fame with hits such as Build me up Buttercup, Baby now that i've found you, Bad bad old days (before you loved me) and Any old time your lonely and sad to name a few.
The lead vocalist Clem Curtis was with The Foundations for about a year and was replaced by Colin Young who sang on Build me up Buttercup and Bad bad old days amongst others. The Foundations have had several frontmen including 'God of hellfire' Arthur Brown.
