Charted at #39 on Billboard Hot 100 in June 1958. After their hits of "At the Hop" (#1 in December 1957) and "Rock and Roll is Here to Stay" (#19 in March 1958), the group decided to try something a bit different. I really like this happy song! This was their last Billboard charting record until "Twistin' USA" hit #27 in September 1960. Original Billboard review: "Dottie is a happy rocker tribute to a girl friend that is solidly rendered by the crew. Both [sides] are changes of pace from their previous clicks, but the new sound can catch on."
