This progressive rock band had a soulful edge which made them for a decade before the advent of punk one of the leading British pop Groups in connecting with disaffected youth. Never afraid to reach out for a new direction, their career could loosely be said to take in three stages:Blues, Psychedelia, and if not quite orchestral a more harmonious sound that was elaborate in construction and impressive as a well balanced piece of innovative music.
