The inspiration for this great tune came from John's younger sister, whose name really is Cheryl Moana Marie. A mega-hit in several countries, including Rowles' down under homeland, New Zealand and Australia. "Cheryl Moana Marie" made the U.S. charts, but just barely, never rising above No. 61. Most of those sales were in Hawaii. Should have done MUCH better in this hemisphere.
