"Sorrow" was first recorded by The McCoys in 1965. The Merseybeats released it in 1966 and became a big hit in the UK peaking at No. 4. It has since been covered by David Bowie.
The Merseybeats formed in Liverpool and well represent early-'60s British rock & roll, however they were unable to make much of a dent in the United States. In the 1963, The Merseybeats debuted with their first song "It's Love That Really Counts."
