Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys came from NYC and had a Top 40 hit with "Good Old Rock 'n' Roll," a creative medley of archetypal 1950s rock hits. Their debut album, THE STREET GIVETH...AND THE STREET TAKETH AWAY, was released on Polydor in 1969 and was produced by none other than Jimi Hendrix.
Here are three of the best songs from the album:
1) "How I Spent My Summer"
2) "Favors"
3) "Good Old Rock 'n' Roll"
I found my copy of the Cat Mother album in a record shop in Athens, Ohio. $3.00 did the trick.
