Written by Bodie Chandler and Ed McKendry, vocals by George Wilkins, orchestra by Gene Page and produced by Stu Phillips.
The Doodletown Pipers were an easy listening vocal group in the style of the Ray Conniff Singers. As with a number of similar groups, their LPs consisted of standards and hits of the day presented in an easy listening style.
This disc, however, was a departure, as it was an original song from Bodie Chandler who had written for the Cascades and Barry & The Tamerlanes and was a writing partner of Barry DeVorzon.
"The Sound Of Children" was revived by a group named The Aliis on Reprise in 1968
