After his family moved from Blytheville, Arkansas to South Bend, Indiana, he could pursue his lifelong specialty, music, with his trusty tenor saxophone. In 1961, Harvey Fuqua hired the squealing saxophonist and his rip-roaring rhythm section to his own label, "Harvey", which would be bought out by Barry Gordy's Motown Record Company in 1964. In 1965, Junior Walker & The Allstars rocketed up the pop charts with their rendition of "Shotgun". There were a lot of other songs that they recorded but their next mega hit was released in April 1969 entitled "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)".
