Soulful gospel from Memphis,TN. courtesy of the Dixie Nightingales. Mostly known for their song "The Assassination",the group featuring the late Ollie Hoskins became Ollie & The Nightingales and began singing secular music hitting immediately withthe Booker T. Jones/William Bell penned "I Got A Sure Thing" in 1968. The Dixie Nightingales recorded for the short lived Chalice label,a one time division of Stax Records.
