Are You Keeping Score.The Exciters were an American vocal group of the 1960s formed in Queens,New York. Originally a girl group ( a quartet of seventeen year old High school friends) until a male member (Herb Rooney) was added later.Group members were Brenda Reid (lead singer) her husband Herb Rooney, Carolyn Johnson and Lillian Walker.They paved the way for other vocally aggressive Girl Groups like The Shangri-Las and The Ronettes.Better known for their "Tell Him" "Reaching For The Best" and "Blowing Up My Mind" Northern Soul tunes.Brilliant RAW vocals.
