Composed by John Lennon & Paul McCartney
The Buggs were another cover band (or in this day and time known as a "tribute" band) that jumped on the Beatles bandwagon in the 1960's. They recorded one album featuring two Beatles covers and the rest was comprised of "originals" with God-awful song titles like "Teddy Boy Stomp" & "Mersey Mercy". It's a wonder that the songwriters Gregory Carroll & Doris Payne didn't sue Coronet Records since one of those campy originals "Swinging Thames" was actually "Just One Look", made famous by Doris Troy. Despite the fact that this was supposed to be recorded in England, it wasn't. The Buggs were from Omaha, Nebraska.
Musicians unknown
Recorded at Kay Bank Studios Minneapolis, MN. 1964
This recording taken from the 1964 album "The Buggs:The Beetle Beat" (Coronet CX-212) (LP) (mono)
