TRACK 23: THE RADIANTS - ONE DAY I'LL SHOW YOU (I REALLY LOVE YOU). THE RADIANTS BEGAN IN 1960 WHEN MAURICE McALISTER GOT A GROUP TOGETHER FROM THE 'GREATER HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH YOUTH CHOIR'. HE SANG THE LEAD AND FIRST TENOR., WITH WALLACE SAMPSON (BARITONE) JEROME BROOKS (SECOND TENOR), ELZIE BUTLER (BASS) AND CHARLES WASHINGTON (FIRST TENOR). AFTER A FEW MONTHS WASHINGTON WAS REPLACED WITH GREEN McLAUREN. AROUND 1963 McLAUREN JOINED THE ARMY AND WAS REPLACED WITH FRANK McCOLLUM. BY 1964 THE RADIANTS WERE EXPERIENCING INTERNAL DIFFICULTIES WHICH RESULTED IN JUST McALISTER AND SAMPSON LEFT BUT WERE LATER JOINED WITH A NEW MEMBER LEONARD CASTON JR WHO HAD JUST GOTTEN OUT THE ARMY NOW MAKING IT A TRIO.
